The Olympics Information
In Te Maunga we have been learning about the Ancient and the Modern Olympics. I learnt that people ran with no clothes on but now we do and I learnt that only boys could only run in the Ancient Olympics. My favourite part was the ancient vs modern. I think the Modern is better than Ancient because you have to have clothes and it is not just boys that are doing it. I learnt when you take notes it is better than switching tab to tab.

the active day
On the last day of term three the whole school did something called PAL day. The class above us called Te Ngahere made the games up and we got to play them. We played running, dodgeball, Relays and steal the tail off the dragon. One thing I liked doing was stealing the tail off the dragon. I learnt that it is not easy to make a game by yourself and might need some help.

the hard working math
In Te Maunga for math we have been doing some measurements and I learnt about using area and perimeter. The area is the box on the inside and the perimeter is the outside lines. I learnt about how to multiply it by big and small numbers. I think my favorite part was when I got close to the end then I got marked green. I like the part when Henry, my friend's name, was in the question and it was talking about him having lots of chicken and he needed a farm for them.
TE REO MAORI
In Te Maunga we have been doing Te Reo Maori and one thing we learnt about was a new Maori saying. It is Kei te pehea koe? When the teacher did the roll I said hi in Maori. I really liked when we did this puzzle with a questionnaire to get a trophy and I got it. It looks like a gold trophy so we took a screenshot and added it here. One thing I learnt was the sentence that I told you about it is good to remember it so if you want to say that to someone that you want.

the deadly virus
In Te Maunga everyone stayed at home because of the lock down. At home I played games online with Henry Loosely and we were not at each other's house so we called on Chromebooks and did some workouts. I ran around the house 20 times and helped with the garden and my mum's cabin that she does lashes in. I had the best time ever out of the lock down when I played lots of games . I spent the most time on this one game that I played. It was my birthday and Henry was the only friend who sent me a present. I learnt you can’t always play games in lock down at my house

Nano Girl Cool!!!
In Te Maunga we had a science person come in. She was called Nano Girl. She talked about how smoke is visible but air isn't. She said do not do this at home!. She got water, then gas in the water, then grabbed the bubbles and she got the lighter and put it on fire. She got a hair dryer and ping pong ball and made it float. She was talking about the fire god Mahuika. She wanted to be just like her. She said she held fire on her fingertips. One thing I learnt was that you should check the danger before doing it to keep safe.

the seven stars
In Te Maunga we have done Matariki activities. I learnt that you can’t use a diamond shaped kite to make it fly. It just went up when I threw it then it came down and hit me. One thing I liked was the poi. Some of them had different colours compared to the others. Someone stole mine so I couldn’t make mine but I was okay with it. I learnt there is more than one way to make a kite.

look at my mesurement
In Te Maunga we have been doing measurements so we can learn about weights, how to measure with hands, feet and books. I learnt how to weigh in grams. Now I learnt how many grams a pen is, six grams isn't that much and a counter was one gram. My favourite was weighing because after we weigh the book we could weigh anything. That was the fun part then we started learning about the pen and the paper and the other stuff I was talking about. I think I could work harder in math. I think I should have known about the paper. It is so light that you can carry it with your thumb.
my astronomy
In Te Maunga we did astronomy, which is about the sun, stars and moon basically the galaxy. We had to do a poster and an explanation. We learnt what the sun and stars are made of. They are made out of hot white gas. One thing I learnt was that how many people have gone on the moon there are actually 12 people that have gone on it. My favourite was when we did the poster it looked cool with a fish talking. I think I need to get better at finding information from the text.

This Is My Cool Reading
In Te Maunga we have been doing something called hauora. It is about how your muscles get stronger. First we had to read the story and complete the slide. We had to make a poster. One thing I liked learning about this was that I like typing so that is what was fun about it.

Look at my fun activities
In Te Maunga we have done some sea activities. We got to pick one activity at a time so it is fair we had three activities. The last one I did was the seahorse. We had shaving cream then we put some paint to make it look cool and not just all white and we put some card to make it a little thicker so it won’t get stuck in the cream. The first activity was a blue whale. We got some chalk because we did it on the court. My favourite one was the seahorse. I had one cool eye but we had to take it off so we could put some googly eyes on them. It's fun when you do all your work. You do the mahi get the treats.

we eat healthy
In Te Maunga we have learned about something called Food for Thought. We learnt about how many blocks of sugar are in bottles of Coke and Sprite and all the other drinks. We found out about how much sugar is in food that we eat. We found out the three unhealthiest countries in the world are the USA, then and the last one, New Zealand. My favourite part was when we had to do the Kahoot quiz. I thought the sugar in the fruit was healthy. The amount of sugar in a bottle of Coke is sixteen tea spoons of sugar. Here is what we have been learning about. This was really interesting and made me think hard about what I am going to eat in the future so we can stay healthy.

!!check out what I did!!
In Te Maunga we had an Easter auction. We had to save money and to get that money we had to do hard work. If you didn’t finish your work you will get it taken off of you. We learnt how to do an auction and the cost of what you bought is how much money you had taken off you. We all had to work hard. My favourite part was when I bought the buttons when I got home I told my mum and ate then we all liked the auction. The highest were ten thousand and the lowest was two hundred but I had five thousand dollars. I had bought one thing and it was yum. I am in the photo here. It was cool. I learned if I did more work than talking I could have lots like those other people. I was halfway there.
what I did in russel
In Te Maunga we went for a swim in Russell. We learnt how to do backstroke and we did some exercise. It was cool. My favourite part about swimming was when I got in the pool. If you don’t know how to swim you should learn.

My art
Mid term this term we made art about our pepeha with our waka, maunga and awa. We colour in with pastel and then we had to write a whakatauki in our art. My favourite thing was the coloring. I still need more practice on it.
The Killer Wave
On Friday I went up to Waitangi Treaty Grounds because there was a tsunami and we all had to all go up to high ground so we could keep safe. The best part was that I got home safe and I didn’t have to do any work for the day. I should always be prepared.
